Artificial Intelligence gained
a central role in society as well as in economic systems all over the
world, radically changing our approach to themes like health, security,
production, transport, education. In perspective, the role AI plays in
such areas is bound to grow.
Availability of large amounts of data, either published on the web or gathered by sensor networks, joint with an increasing confidence the average users show towards tools that encompass Artificial Intelligence technologies (think of speech recognition systems, as an instance) allowed the development of new, large-scale applications. More and more application systems make a successful use of methodologies for knowledge representation and reasoning, data analysis, conceptual modeling, simulation, or in general rational systems.
The master aims at providing methodological and practical knowledge about various sectors inside Artificial Intelligence, in particular:
- natural language processing;
- machine learning;
- agents, planning and diagnosis;
- logic programming and constraint programming;
- knowledge representation;
- business processes;
- software architectures for artificial intelligence;
- image recognition.
By complementing academic lectures with practice, the aim is to prepare professionals with a high-level profile who can work in teams where experts from different sectors interact in order to realize Artificial Intelligence systems.
